GENERAL INFORMATION
ENROLLMENT
We accept children aged 5-13. The counselor to camper ratio varies from class to class, but it is normally around ten campers to one counselor.
DROP OFF & PICK UP
Our facility is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Arrival time is from 7:00-9:00 a.m. and departure time is from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
LUNCHES AND PURCHASES
Each camper may bring their own lunch from home. Lunch items, snacks, tee shirts, etc. may be purchased at the store during free time and lunch. Our menu is available upon request.
REGISTRATION
Weeks fill up quickly, so please register as soon as possible. On-line Registration is available.
WEEKLY CAMP LETTERS
Weekly letters are provided Monday morning of each week giving specific details on the special activities scheduled for the week, including campouts, field trips, and any camper needs.
OUR CHRISTIAN STANDARD
Antietam Recreation is dedicated to assisting parents as you strive to develop character, uphold Christian principles, and maintaining high standards in the lives of your sons and daughters. Although Antietam Recreationis not associated with any church or religious organization, we do promote Judeo- Christian values. Bible verses and character qualities will be emphasized each week.
MEDICATIONS
According to the Maryland Health Department regulations we are unable to administer medications at our facility. Therefore any minor injuries we will use non-medicated methods for treatment. Parents will be notified of any more serious illnesses or injuries. Emergency medications may be kept in the office accompanied by a signed form. We do not have a full time nurse or doctor on location and are not equipped to handle special needs children that require extra care.
DISCIPLINE POLICY
Due to the variety of activities and open areas, it is extremely essential that our campers are obedient and can follow directions, for their own safety. A discipline system is enforced and is available for review in the office. Antietam Recreation reserve the right to ask any camper not to return who is not furthering the best interest of the other children.
ADDING WEEKS
When weeks are added after the application is submitted, a lower rate may apply. However if it is after May 1st the lower rate will only apply to the additional weeks. If available, weeks must be added by 5:00 pm Friday of the week before you would like your children to attend. We are not able to accept additions on Monday morning of the week desired.
CHANGES
Weekly changes may be made until May 1st without charge (if there is still availability). After May 1st your deposit is non-refundable and transfers may be made for a $15 fee, (per week, per child) provided space is available in the desired week. Transfers may only be made up until 5:00 pm Friday of the week before.
REFUNDS
Before May 1st all cancellations are fully refunded without charge (if there is still availability). After May 1st, a $40 deposit (per week, per child) will be lost and the balance will be refunded. Absences for individual days during the week will not be refunded.
BRING A GUEST
Campers are welcome to bring friends on Fridays of each camp week to join the fun. The cost is $25 per person, ages 5 and up. You can sign up your guest/s by paying and completing a registration form located at the front gate or office prior to Friday.
OPEN HOUSE: EXPERIENCE THE FUN
You are invited to an open house on Saturday, April 28, from 3-6 PM. Everyone is welcome! If you haven’t seen the camp we look forward to meeting you and your family and giving you the opportunity to enjoy the activities.
FAMILY NIGHTS
Antietam Recreation is pleased to announce two family nights schedules for this summer. These nights will be designed with family strengthening activities for all ages. Sam June 30th and July 28th on your calendar for a fun night together. Check out the weekly letters for sign up information and additional details.
FARWELL & FAMILY FUN NIGHT
All campers and their families are invited to come on Friday, August 24th, from 5-9:30 PM. Join us for special activities and a final campfire. There is no charge for this event.
