FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is the show outside?
No, the meal and the show are inside and heated in the winter. For our Christmas Show, there are optional activities which are offered including the wagon ride, animal stable, and pony rides which are outside. However, for those who do not wish to go outside, there are many other activities offered indoors during this time before the show.
What about inclement weather?
The show will go on whenever possible. We average less than one cancellation a year. Snow/ice early in the day or even early in the evening will not prompt a cancellation, nor will a weatherman’s prediction. However, if severe conditions or extraneous circumstances do warrant a cancellation, ticket-holders will be notified by phone or e-mail no later than 3 hours prior to the event. (Make sure your contact information is accurate!)
If we do have to cancel the show, either due to weather-related conditions or extraneous circumstances you have two options.
We know you will enjoy the show and want you to have a chance to see it, so we will provide you with tickets which are good for any future (available) performance.
If you are unable to take advantage of a future performance, you may choose to receive a full refund. Please keep in mind however that if we have decided to proceed with the show (this means that our actors from all over the area feel safe in coming), guests who do not attend forfeit their tickets.
What is the cancellation policy?
48 hours or more before your show date, there is a $5.00 per ticket charge for any cancellations or changes made to your reservation. Once it is less than 48 hours from the show, all sales are final and there are no refunds or date transfers.
Do you have gift certificates available?
Yes, gift certificates are available and can be purchased by calling 301-797-7999 or visiting our office. If you plan on visiting our office, please call beforehand.
I have a health condition or personal preference that would require a vegetarian meal.
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate all special dietary needs; however, we do offer the option of a veggie burger. If that is something you are interested in, please request it when you make your reservation. Guests are also welcome to bring food into the facility to supplement or replace their meal, but there is no price reduction. You may also box up the uneaten meal to take home, or you can share it with someone else.
Are you wheelchair & handicap accessible?
We are handicap and wheelchair accessible. If you have someone in your party who may need assistance getting to the building, let our parking attendant know and they will allow you to drive up to the main doors and drop off the individual.
Do you serve alcohol? May I bring my own?
No, we do not serve alcohol, nor is alcohol permitted at our facility.
Is the show appropriate for young children?
As a family owned and operated business, it has been our goal from the beginning to provide dinner shows to be enjoyed by the entire family. As a result, our shows don't contain course jokes or foul language and there are no sexual situations or comments. Occasionally, in order to present an authentic historic depiction, short dramatic sketches may include a fight sequence and/or the presence of fire arms. For small children and babies, keep in mind our shows are 120 minutes in length and include strobe lighting, fire and special effects.
I've heard that your show is religious. What is that about?
Antietam Recreation is privately owned by the Rotz family, who are Christians. Each show promotes Judeo-Christian values and includes a Biblical message.
Can I take pictures during the show?
You are definitely welcome to bring your camera with you, as memories are sure to be in the making! However, we do not permit flash photography or video during the show.
How do I dress?
Comfortable and casual clothes are appropriate.
