The Bible says these things are sin and that everyone has sinned.  Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  Well, you say what's so bad about that we all know, we make mistakes but I am as good as the next person.  The bad thing is that the Bible also says that the consequence for sin (only one) is death (separation from God in hell).

But God didn't want any to perish so His gift is -  The gift of eternal life! The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23   Not, an eternal life on this imperfect earth but in the incomparable glory of heaven with the Lord, as your constant best friend where pain, fear and suffering has no place.

This gift is made possible by the precious shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God and his life is given in place of yours. We broke God's law and Jesus paid our fine!
